PGPs:
Leading a Learning Community
I am a founding member of the provincial Alberta Teachers’ Association Diversity, Equity, and Network (DEN) for Racialized Teachers. This group was established to provide racialized teachers across Alberta with a safe affinity space to connect, share experiences, and engage in the ongoing process of reconciliation. For more information, please visit the DEN website.
Providing Instructional Leadership
This year, I was among the first teachers at G.H. Dawe School to apply for multiple numeracy grants to support the Explore Learning program. The program was so successful with Grade 6 students that it was expanded across the entire middle school, helping students develop fluency in basic math facts and fractions.
Understanding and Responding to the Larger Societal Context
A leader understands and appropriately responds to the political, social, economic, legal and cultural contexts impacting schools and the school authority.

Developing Leadership Capacity
This is a key area of focus for my growth as a leader. My passion lies at the intersection of educational policy and the current global climate, with a particular emphasis on equity and inclusion. Over the next year, I aim to collaborate with school leaders to reduce discrimination within our division. Currently, I am working with the WITS Foundation to help develop their Inclusion Programming, with a focus on promoting equity and reducing discrimination.
