Origin Story
About
I was born in Edmonton and raised in Calgary and Edmonton. I graduated from Western Canada High School and went to the University of Alberta for a Combined BSc and BEd program. While I was completing my degree I did a Study Aboard Program at the Australian National University studying Marine Biology. At this time, I also worked as a Crisis Intervention Worker with the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton. The children I worked with left a lasting impression on me and have inspired me to connect and empower those that have encountered trauma and struggles in their lives.
After graduating, I was hired by Red Deer Public Schools, where I started teaching Biology, Medical Studies and Sports Medicine at Hunting Hills High School. I coached Rugby, Track and the First Aid Team (We won 5 Provincial titles).
After 7 years at Hunting, I started teaching Math and Science at North Cottage High School, which was part of the Alternative Programs. At North Cottage, I enabled teens that were struggling with Mental Health Issues to not only graduate from high school, but to achieve their dreams of Post-Secondary and finding their vocations. During this time, I completed my Masters in Educational Studies from the University of Alberta in School Improvement and Leadership. My thesis was about the impact that school administrators had on teacher attrition.
Currently, I am teaching Social, Math and Science at GH Dawe School. During my summers, I have been teaching Biology, Math and CALM for the Red Deer Public Schools. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, photography, quilting and Taekwondo (2nd Dan).

Mission
My mission is to improve the lives of those around me through meaningful advocacy and the development of effective policies and procedures. While believing in a better world is admirable, I believe real change requires structure, accountability, and systems that protect and sustain those ideals for everyone.
Vision
I envision a future where public education inspires hope, unlocks potential, and strengthens communities. As a passionate advocate for public education, I am committed to protecting and advancing systems that ensure every student has access to inclusive, equitable, and high-quality learning opportunities.
